I ABSOLUTELY HATE DIRECTORY SUBMISSIONS!

March 19th, 2009

I have tried and tried the directory submission route, and I get frustrated, bored, rejected, and no link juice with every try.

I need links, YOU need links, Google says the “I will link to you, if you link to me” is against their terms of service. What’s left? Article submission, directory submission, forum signatures, etc. Is that enough to reach the first page for our keywords?

The problem is that the TEN webmasters that are ranking in the top spots are also doing article submission, directory submission, forum signatures, and more! So how the hell are we supposed to catch up?

And since those webmasters are ranking at the top, they are usually considered the forum-experts and they are advising us to be fussy where we submit our links. They say that linking from the “wrong” places could actually damage our rank! Geesus!

This is the dilemma that drove me from being a pure white hatter hanging out on forums like digitalpoint to learning the darker arts on Syndk8.net!

However, you might not be ready for the dark arts yet. What can you do?

You need an edge, an inside tip, something different!

Yesterday I found something that turns directory submission inside out, upside down, and shakes all the crap out leaving us with pure whitehat link gathering energy. A respected SEO has taken his notes and reports going back years and has put his knowledge of directory submission in PDF format for us dummies.

I got my hands on a copy as soon as I heard about it. I’ve read it, digested it, and I love it! The man is IrishWonder and he has done a superb job of clearly conveying the How and Where of directory submission. His writing style is easy on the eyes and easy on my brain, (very simple).

This is not the same stuff you read on forums or in blog posts. This is IrishWonder’s own methods and techniques that he refined over the years for his clients. The way IrishWonder explains it, can be done by the average Joe like you and me.

I started today to implement IrishWonder’s directory submission formula.

Get you copy here or stay on the bottom forever.

Why are Blogger Blogs So Great?

March 9th, 2009

A blog on blogspot.com is very good for just getting crawled by googlebot.

Brilliant deduction, huh?

But I really thought there was more benefit!

No Extra Weight:
But, this is not because blogspot blogs have any extra weight, it’s only because, imo, Google had dedicated extra googlebot resources to crawling their own blogs.  And why not?  Those blogs are right there at home.

Zero Link Juice:
Blogspot.com blogs get ZERO link juice from PR8 blogger.com.  The few “Blogs of Note” link at the bottom of blogger.com are nofollow.  I did find one PR5 page on blogger (changes10.g) that lists recently updated blogs (a live list). For a moment I was hopeful, but the page took like 5 minutes to load here cuz it has 10,000 blogs listed for the last 10 minutes.  A PR5 shared by 10,000 external links is a PR-shit imo.  However, if you post every 10 minutes, it would be possible to get 1/10,000 of a PR5 for your blog.

The Magic “Next Blog” link:
Again, I looked closer at that Next Blog lnk at the top of my blogspot blog. I noticed that the link is not to another blog, but to a script which does a 302 to another blog: no PR passed there.  Google knows when to use a 302.

I tried to load blogspot.com in my browser and I see that it does a 301 to blogger.com.  Google knows when to use a 301.

You see?

Whenever anyone links to blogspot.com, blogger.com gets the juice.

Goolge is cleverly sculpting the PR for blogger.com.  Nice work.

So, to summarize, creating a blog on blogspot.com is about the same as creating a new blog on your own hosted account…PR ZERO!

You will get no PR help or other form of link juice from the parent domains: blogger.com and blogspot.com.  It’s not about you or your blog; it’s about THEM!  (and that’s how it should be)

What You Get:
Your blogspot blog will be crawled often.
Your blogspot blog will be included in google blogsearch (whoopie)
Your blogspot blog is free.
Your blogspot blog is redirectable.

That’s it as I see it.

G’nite, Bompa

PS: Btw, see the numbers included with each tag (down below) in this post? Those are actually the volume of queries that phrase gets according to Google’s keyword tool. :D

I found one of my videos at the top for “earn make money online“, which, according to Google, gets about 6,600 queries per month. That’s about 220 queries per day.

Supposedly, the #1 spot gets about 40% of the clicks, 88/day, but in this case, those clicks are going to youtube.com so I can not verify that traffic.

Linking to Digital Point Harm Your Rankings!

February 28th, 2009

Patrick Altoft gets today HOT AIR AWARD!

His blog post…

Linking to Digital Point DOES harm rankings

by Patrick Altoft on February 25, 2008

Last week I noticed an article was being filtered from the search results and thought it might be because of a link to Digital Point.

The link was removed and as soon as Google re-crawled the page it started to rank right where it should.

Clearly this isn’t a particularly scientific test as there are no doubt hundreds of other factors that might have affected the results. The key issue is that for months this page hasn’t ranked where it should and as soon as the offending link was removed the rankings shot up.

I certainly won’t ever link to Digital Point again.

http://www.blogstorm.co.uk/linking-to-digital-point-does-harm-rankings/440/

Even though Patrick admits that hundreds of other factors are involved, he STILL says that he won’t EVER link to digitalpoint again. DUH!

Do Exact Match Domain Names Get Extra Boost in Google OR It’s Just Wishful Thinking

February 26th, 2009

Everywhere I go people are saying that domains that match exactly with a search query will rank better; all other things being equal.

I want to believe this and I think that is the reason so many people do believe it; they wantto.

Sure, it’s easy to find exact match domains ranking in the top ten, but did they get a boost based solely on the fact that they are an exact match or is their ranking due to all the other factors, such as, a shit load of incoming relevant links?

I decide to find some evidence.

Ironically, I decided to check a site named exactmatchdomain.com because I was wondering if it was already registered. LOL

As of this writing, exactmatchdomain.com has zero backlinks showing with Google and zero backlinks showing with Yahoo, yet it is ranking #6 for exact match domain

NO BACKLINKS!

That’s pretty amazing, but maybe the pages below him have just a few crappy links, right?

The page ranking just below him at #7…

www.thedomains.com/2009/02/10/the-incredible-value-of-an-exact-match-domain-name-some-in-the-non-domain-world-continue-to-get-it/

1 - 10 of 37,400 for linkdomain:http://www.thedomains.com/2009/02/10/the-incredible-value-of-an-exact-match-domain-name-some-in-the-non-domain-world-continue-to-get-it/ -http://www.thedomains.com

Hmm, exactmatchdomain.com is beating a page that has 37,400 incoming links while he has NONE!

Here’s a page two spots below, at #8…

www.internetinc.com/Exact-Match-Domain-Names

1 - 10 of 3,870 for linkdomain:www.internetinc.com/Exact-Match-Domain-Names -www.internetinc.com/

Hmm, exactmatchdomain.com is beating a page that has 3,870 incoming links while he has NONE!

Well, researching just ONE domain is not sufficient proof, but I’m sorta convinced, at least for now.

Wait!  On the other hand, I checked buyviagra at namecheap.com…

buyviagra.com    TAKEN
buyviagra.me    TAKEN
buyviagra.net    TAKEN
buyviagra.org    TAKEN
buyviagra.mobi    TAKEN
buyviagra.us    TAKEN
buyviagra.biz    TAKEN
buyviagra.info    TAKEN
buyviagra.tv    TAKEN
buyviagra.co.uk    TAKEN
buyviagra.org.uk TAKEN

They are ALL taken.  Why?  Because webmasters are taking advantage of the exact match boost?  I don’t think so.  None of those are ranking in the top 100 SERPs for “buy viagra”.

So, one guy tells me that those names were probably bought by domain investors, (domainers), due to the incredible value of exact match domains.

If that’s the case, I guess they have little value since no one has bought them and ranked them, right?

So, bottom line, the jury is still out.  :D

Earnersblog.com’s Hoaxbait Fails Miserably!

February 25th, 2009

I should be getting used to the idiocy on DP (DigitalPoint) after all these years, (Join Date: Oct 2005), but I am foolish enough to hold on to my dream that humanity will evolve. ;)

There is a new rumor floating around DP that Google is punishing all links from forum signatures and even crazier is that the cause of the rumor is a quote of Google engineer, Matt Cutts:

“For some reason, I hate signature links. Hate them.”

I first saw this quote on earnersblog in a post titled Advanced Forum Link Building, but with no link to the actual statement of Matt. Hmm. Bullshitbait? I mean, if you’re going to quote someone by name, you should at least have the decency to link to the source of that quote.

This is how it appears on earnersblog…

“Since you have editorial control over forum links many people in the industry regard them to be of little or no value, including Matt Cutts himself:

‘For some reason, I hate signature links. Hate them.’

earnersblog.com

I decided to search for the source. I wanted to verify in what context Matt Cutts said such a thing as it just doesn’t sound like a statement he’d make.

I found it. Ha! And now I know why earnersblog did not link to the source; he would have made a fool of himself. So, I will make a fool of him instead.

Matt Cutts was NOT talking about forum signature links, he was talking about signature links left in comments in his own blog!

Furthermore, Matt made that statement in March of 2006!

Here’s the link to Matt Cutts statement

So earnersblog gets todays BULL SHIT AWARD!

I have no moral problem with linkbait or even hoaxbait, but the problem now becomes that everything we read on earnersblog MUST be personally verified.

Earnersblog is the new Miserable Failure.

4 Steps How To Rank #1 for Pharmacy and Earn CASH!

February 21st, 2009

I’ll tell you right off, ranking in the top 10 for any pharmacy products is not easy. You will needs lots of links and the links better be good.

However, if you can pull it off, you’ll make some cash.

Here’s why…

Pharma converts at about 1:30
Ave commission is about $30
So, just 30 click thrus per day earns you $30/day.

Here’s the best news of all, people searching for prescription meds are ALREADY sold. I mean, they already know that they are going to buy. The have a prescription in their hand and they want the med. All you have to do is get them to a good looking pharmacy site and it’s a done deal. What’s a good looking pharmacy site? Well, it should look like a pharmacy in real life. Clean, organized, professional. (not like any of my own made sites, lol).

So, how can YOU rank in the top ten for pharmacy?

1. Find a pharmacy affiliate program
I’ve been using glavmed for about three years. You’ll need an invite code to join there. Leave your email in your comment and I’ll invite you. I have also used stimul-cash.com. There are others and the best way to find them is ask for suggestions in forums like syndk8.net, etc.

2. Find a great parasite Some of you might not be sure what a parasite is. It’s just a site that allows you to have your own page on it. They are the host, you are the parasite. I’ve been using youtube.com lately; PR9 homepage and videos are hot lately. There are parasites that give a much better page than does youtube.com, but youtube.com ranks nicely.

3. Now, pick a few seldom heard of prescription meds, like actonel or vasotec. Just go to your pharmacy and pick a couple that you never heard of. :D

4. Now add some power words to your meds like this:

buy cheap generic actonel online pharmacy
buy cheap generic vasotec online pharmacy

Those are called looooooooooooogtail keywords and you will need them in order to rank on the first page. When you can rank for those, then shorten them and go again.

But first, you want to rank! You want to at least hit the ball and get to first base; home runs can be later.

Next, drop every link you got as fast as you can drop’em!

Here’s a few real life Google examples of my video ranking:

buy cheap generic actos online pharmacy

buy cheap generic actoplus met online pharmacy

buy cheap generic actonel online pharmacy

Yup, that’s my crappy video. :D

How an Idiot Gets Over 500 Visitors a Day with One Crappy Youtube Video!

February 17th, 2009

Let’s face it, I am a multimedia moron. I suck at creating .gifs. I’m an idiot with Paint Shop Pro.

So how can an idiot have a successful video on youtube.com?

Here is my step-by-step idiot’s guide:

1. I stuggled to create about 8 promotional .gifs. Actually, I already had a few of them that I was using here and there.

2. I zipped the gifs and emailed them to my daughter. :D She’s pretty good with Windows Movie Maker (WMM). She syncronized some music and inserted the transitions so that my crappy gifs look presentable.

3. I uploaded the video to youtube.

4. THEN, like an idiot, I tried to figure out how to get my video to rank on youtube. Is it views? Is it comments? Ratings? Friends? WTF?

5. The answer, came after weeks of frustrated failures. Youtube is owned by Google, so just get links as normal and the video will rank on both Google and Youtube!

That’s your idiot’s guide.

There is one secret I wish I knew beforehand. Once you upload a video to Youtube, you can not change it. You can change it’s Title and it’s Description, you can even swap out the audio for one of Youtube’s hosted audio tracks, BUT you can NOT change your actual video. You can change your video on your pc til you’re blue in the face, but when you upload it, Youtube will give it a new “name” or URL. Your original video remains unchanged.

Why is this a problem?

Because the video is your sales presentation and if people are not clicking through to your site, you need to tweak your presentation.

To get people to click, to convince them, to persuade them, to “sell” them to take action now by clicking on your link (in your description idiot!), you will need to experiment. This biz is endless trial and error.

After a few months of getting about zero click throughs, I finally figured a work around for this.

To access my secret video clickthru sauce you’ll have to join my bootcamp. :D

By the way, we are offering a 100% risk free 5 day trial for the next few days.
