The Money is in the List!

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I was thinking about conversion rates in general and happen to find some information regarding email list marketing.

Some of it is old, but people are people; they don’t really change much over a few years.

# Untargeted broadcast emails

Open rate: 20%

Avg. CTR: 9.5%

Avg. conversion rate: 1.1%

.

.

# - Jupiter Research (2006) User-triggered campaigns

Open rate: 27%

Avg. CTR: 9.3%

Avg. conversion rate: 2.3%

.

# - Jupiter Research (2006) Lifecycle messaging campaigns

Open rate: 26%

Avg. CTR: 9.3%

Avg. conversion rate: 2.3%

.

.

# - Jupiter Research (2006) Click-stream based campaigns

Open rate: 33%

Avg. CTR: 14%

Avg. conversion rate: 3.9%

.

Untargeted broadcast emails, with no personalization or segmentation

* Average open rate of 20%

* Average click-through rate of 9.5%

* Average conversion rate of 1.1%

- David Daniels, Jupiter Research (2006)

Campaigns triggered from user actions, such as shopping cart abandonment:

* 27% average open rate

* 9.3% average click-through rate

* 2.3% average conversion rate

- David Daniels, Jupiter Research (2006)

.

If you’ve never done any email marketing before, here is one way to get started.

1. Put a Newsletter signup form on your site. Many people might be turned off to newsletters, but if you just say “Enter your email to receive occasional updates”, you might get a better response.

2. Keep a note pad near you and daily jot down ideas for “news” or tips that you could include in your announement email.

3. Sign up for a low cost, low volume email list service. aweber seems to be what most are using.

Good luck!

Who Wants 350,000 Wordpress Blogs?

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

.

.

From a lot of web crawling and data mining, I have a database (flatfile) of over 350,000 WP blogs. I am NOT talking about 350,000 Wordpress blog URLs, (duplicate domains), a child could find that.

These are all unique domains in an unedited, uncensored database, (non-printable characters were replaced with a ‘#’ symbol during the data mining process), and you will be hard pressed to find this data anywhere else!

.

The format of the list is:

DOMAIN NAME
WORDPRESS VERSION
PAGE TITLE
META KEYWORDS
META DESCRIPTION
MOST RECENT PERMALINK
ADSENSE PUB ID

All on each one line, of course.
Delimited with a double pipe because the Keywords and Descriptions contain commas.

In plain text it is 113MB and compressed it is 38MB. HUGE!!!

.

What can be done with this?

.

How can this be a marketing tool?

.

1. A startup SEO consultant could possibly find new prospects by browsing for ineffective Titles, Keywords, and Descriptions. Contact them with your offer to research and improve. Tell them why they need to improved these onpage elements.

2. A Wordpress geek could search the versions and offer to update them to the latest version. This would give them lots of new features and all the security fixes.

3. Speaking of security fixes, if you are good with Wordpress you might find some of the older versions have been hacked or defaced and you could offer to help them. There are some VERY young versions on the list.

4. The domain names alone could be used just for commenting on blogs. Research them and spend some time getting quality backlinks.

5. Search Titles in order to find competitors.

6. Search Keywords in order to find new keywords for you own use.

7. Search Descriptions in order to find new ideas for your own onpage SEO.

8. You could also search for AdSense pub IDs. Why? If you are researching a site, it might have private whois information, but if it uses AdSense, all of the owners blogs will have the same pubID, so you could find his whole network.

I’m sure that the possible uses of this list could be expanded by more creative people than myself.

Price: $99.00

Leave a comment and I’ll email you.

PROXIES FOR BREAKFAST! Delivered Fresh to Your Inbox Every Morning!!!

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

.

Finding working proxies is a pain in the ass. I know, I’ve been doing it for four years and it really doesn’t get any easier over time.

When I started blackhatbootcamp.com, I had to buckle down and fine tune my perl code for proxy scraping and testing. It’s been about a year and a half and my proxy service for my members is working like a swiss clock.

The good news is that you don’t have to join my bootcamp just to get the proxies. You can have them delivered straight to your Inbox everyday at a reasonable price.

1. We usually have from 50 to 100 freshly tested proxies daily.
2. Each proxy is quality-tested to ensure high anonymity.

Attention: Open Public Proxies are not intended for illegal activities. Notice the word “public”?

However, if all you’re doing is commenting on some blogs with something like Syndk8’s FREE Wordpress Auto Commenter, and you want a different IP with each comment, these proxies will serve you well.

Remember, these are open public proxies and if you’ve ever dealt with them, you know that they are flakey. They come and they go quickly. Of course, this is exactly why you need them delivered to your Inbox fresh everyday.

Here’s the deal, you sign up, I put you on the email list, you get the proxies everday in your Inbox for 7 days FREE. If you’re not happy with my proxy service, you can cancel through your Paypal at any time. If you are ok with it, your service continues automatically, for the righteously low price of just $5.95/month.

THE GREATEST LESSON OF YOUR LIFE!

Monday, January 18th, 2010

The greatest lesson in my online marketing life was learning the proper way to make a mini site. I had made many of them, but the conversions were so low that I was left embarrassed (and broke). My sites were well designed and explained the products clearly. I just could not get anyone to actually buy!

Until one day I stumbled upon some information that shook my world! I found an ebook that contained such powerful secrets that my life changed forever!

My eyes had been opened and I learned the right way of creating mini sites. BAM! Almost overnight my sales went through the roof. I was so amazed that I had to check and double check my paypay account. I thought it had to be a mistake or a prank, but it was very real!!!

The biggest secret is that there is a magic sequence to the text you put on a mini site that causes people to buy now. Once you know that magic sequence, you can pretty much make as much money as you want..

Here are just five of the chapters in the book that I read over and over again:

1) The secret formula for creating killer mini-sites
2) How to write irresistible copy for your mini-site
3) Creating your own info-product to sell
4) Selling other people’s products
5) Where to host your mini-sites and get the best bang for the buck

There is more in the book, but notice that first chapter? “The secret formula for creating killer mini-sites”. That’s what I’m talking about and it really is a secret and it really will make you virtually all the money you want!

Folks, honest to God, I paid $59.00 for this ebook and it was the best damn purchase I ever made. Sadly, the original author of this ebook has passed away, but I have 50 copies that I am authorized to distribute. I have already given a few copies to some of my friends and family because I know that if they apply the secret sequence from the ebook, they will make tons of cash!

(image is for presentation only, product is a digatal download.)

I have sold a few copies of this amazing ebook for the same price that I paid and the buyers thanked me, but I want the last few copies to go quickly so that I can just sit around the beach sipping my iced coffee.

So, only if you’re a mover and a shaker will you be able to obtain the secret sequence of mini sites and make the easiest cash of your life because these last few copies are going for Only $29.95!

Instant download!

.

Note: After payment be sure to click the Return To Merchant button. If that Return does not work, email sales at blackhatbootcamp.com.

Virtual Private Servers and Naked Women!

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Are you paying for a slow, bloated, overloaded server that doesn’t care about you?

Would you like something a bit more trim, fit, and eager to satisfy you?

Here’s a VPS that has good specs at a reasonable price.

vpsland.com

512 MB RAM

10 GB Storage

250 GB Bandwidth

1 IP address

$19.99/mo

That’s their Starter package. They have others with more resources of course.

However, if this is your first VPS and if you are not proficient at Linux, be warned, these server packages are barebones; no Web Host Manager (WHM) and no Cpanel. It does include Plesk Control Panel good for 30 domains if you can figure it out. :D

I get nothing from this, I’ve been using them and I just think it’s a good deal. Their support is ok also.

How To Rank in Yahoo Easy and Earn $1,000 Day!

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

It’s just amazing how often I see a forum post like: “I’m ranking good in Google, but nowhere in Yahoo, WHY?”

Those lucky webmasters that are ranking in Yahoo give these answers:

Get into yahoo directory
Get more back links
Put your keyword in your Title.
ect, etc.
blah, blah, blah.

I know those people mean well, but it’s obvious that they really don’t know how they got their page ranking well in Yahoo, so they just throw out some standard advice.

It can be tiring reading these same blah answers over and over for years, so I am going to break ranks with my professional colleagues and explain right here how it’s done.

Yahoo Loves Wordpress!

Use a wordpress blog.
Post at least once per week.
Be sure the xmlrpc pings are enabled.
Write posts interesting enough to attract comments. (natural updates)

Here’s an example from the blackhat seo niche.

QUERY: “blackhat seo” seoblackhat.com www.blackhatseo.com
Google rank: 4 1
Yahoo rank: 1 2
PageRank PR5 PR4
Incoming links

Yahoo’s siteexplorer

Inlinks (58,025) Inlinks (1,744)
Title SEO BlackHat: Black Hat SEO Blog Black Hat SEO
RSS feed? Yes, both types:

type=”application/rss+xml”

type=”application/atom+xml”

No.
Content: Over 3,000 words. About 400 words.
Pingback enabled: Yes.

X-Pingback: http://seoblackhat.com/xmlrpc.php

No.
Homepage links to homepage? Yes, the anchor is ‘home’ No.

Both of these sites are doing well, but seoblackhat has a shit load more links that blackhatseo, yet he is ranking 4th behind the #1 blackhatseo in Google. seoblackhat also has better PR.

So, why is the Google #4 actually in the #1 spot in Yahoo?

Some of his 58,000 links that are not helping him in Google are probably helping him in Yahoo. Which ones, we’ll never know.

Other than that, it comes down to:

Happy New Year! Google PageRank Celebration!

GOOGLE PAGERANK UPDATE NEWS

Everyone’s talking about it!

Google has updated PageRank

Wooooohooooo!!!!

Of course, many new webmasters are asking questions!.

Let’s cover a few of the most popular.

Q. How often does Google update PageRank?
First of all, Google updates PageRank on a continuous basis, everyday, around the clock, but we do NOT see that PageRank until Google exports it to the Toolbar. Then you see your PageRank as of THAT particular export time and date.

Q. My PageRank went up, why is my site not ranking better?
An increase in PageRank does not mean that your site should rank better. It only means that you are now seeing in your toolbar what Google has known all along. Many webmaster just don’t “get it” on this point. Again, your site is not ranking better because Google already knew your site’s up-to-date PageRank even before the new PR was exported to the Toolbar.

Google PageRank update

Q. My PageRank dropped, HELP!!!
A decrease in PageRank is important to notice and take action on and you might need to restart your link campaign.

We lose PageRank for several reasons:

  1. It could mean that some of the sites that were linking to you have deleted your link.
  2. Also, if you comment on dofollow blogs, the post where your comment is may be dropping down in their archives: if it has less PR, so will your comment link.
  3. It could also mean that the sites where you have links have actually lost their PageRank.

You should check the PageRank of those sites where you have links.

Bootcamp members have a custom program for this: PRbot.

Here’s a screen shot:

Without good tools, it’s really difficult to do our job.

Bootcamp members have many tools to help them, (see examples in signature).

Well, good luck,

Google Admits Using ClickThru Data!!!

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

For years, the debate and speculation has continued, but now can finally put to rest; Google admits to using click thourgh data in their organic news search. By the way, quite often, a news item will ALSO appear in the normal, everyday, organic seach, so you need to pay attention to this. It’s a sign of things to come!

The last signal I want to cover in article ranking is the idea of trusted sources. For us, trusted sources doesn’t have to do with some arbitrary decision that we make, but it’s actually data driven. So, according to our data over time, did users start to look at your articles and then click on them?… ~ Maile Ohye, Google Developer Programs Tech Lead.

Matt Cutts Ends Google Ban Myth!

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

sexy shocked girl

Over the years there’s been many warnings to the effect “too many links per page can raise red flags with Google” and maybe get your site banned. Why? Because Google recommends no more than 100 links per page in their content guidelines, and so, every webmaster trembles with fear.

This is like the ancients thinking thunder and lightning were an angry god.

google ancient god

In March of this year, Matt Cutts, Google’s Quality Control Supervisor, put up a new page with over 100 links.

I’m about to publish a blog post with a ton of links in it — almost two hundred of them. ~ Matt Cutts

Because Matt, himself, is doing it, finally he thinks that the millions of scared-to-death, Googlegod-fearing webmasters around the world should know the truth.

ping the world internet traffic

The original reason we provided that recommendation is that Google used to index only about 100 kilobytes of a page. When we thought about how many links a page might reasonably have and still be under 100K, it seemed about right to recommend 100 links or so. If a page started to have more than that many links, there was a chance that the page would be so long that Google would truncate the page and wouldn’t index the entire page. ~ Matt Cutts

I suppose that makes some sense from Google’s point of view. They would certainly rather sacrifice links than cut down on the content, but 100K is a big page. We’re not talking about the images, etc, just the source HTML.

In any case, the point is that Google does NOT automatically label pages with over 100 links as spam.

Does Google automatically consider a page spam if your page has over 100 links? No, not at all. ~ Matt Cutts

Quoted from:
http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/ how-many-links-per-page/

Another myth busted! Now you can rest easy.
