If you’ve never done any email marketing before, here is one way to get started.

1. Put a Newsletter signup form on your site. Many people might be turned off to newsletters, but if you just say “Enter your email to receive occasional updates”, you might get a better response.

2. Keep a note pad near you and daily jot down ideas for “news” or tips that you could include in your announement email.

3. Sign up for a low cost, low volume email list service. aweber seems to be what most are using.

How an Idiot Gets Over 500 Visitors a Day with One Crappy Youtube Video!

Let’s face it, I am a multimedia moron. I suck at creating .gifs. I’m an idiot with Paint Shop Pro.

So how can an idiot have a successful video on youtube.com?

Here is my step-by-step idiot’s guide:

1. I stuggled to create about 8 promotional .gifs. Actually, I already had a few of them that I was using here and there.

2. I zipped the gifs and emailed them to my daughter. :D She’s pretty good with Windows Movie Maker (WMM). She syncronized some music and inserted the transitions so that my crappy gifs look presentable.

3. I uploaded the video to youtube.

4. THEN, like an idiot, I tried to figure out how to get my video to rank on youtube. Is it views? Is it comments? Ratings? Friends? WTF?

5. The answer, came after weeks of frustrated failures. Youtube is owned by Google, so just get links as normal and the video will rank on both Google and Youtube!

That’s your idiot’s guide.

There is one secret I wish I knew beforehand. Once you upload a video to Youtube, you can not change it. You can change it’s Title and it’s Description, you can even swap out the audio for one of Youtube’s hosted audio tracks, BUT you can NOT change your actual video. You can change your video on your pc til you’re blue in the face, but when you upload it, Youtube will give it a new “name” or URL. Your original video remains unchanged.

Why is this a problem?

Because the video is your sales presentation and if people are not clicking through to your site, you need to tweak your presentation.

To get people to click, to convince them, to persuade them, to “sell” them to take action now by clicking on your link (in your description idiot!), you will need to experiment. This biz is endless trial and error.

After a few months of getting about zero click throughs, I finally figured a work around for this.

KommentKingPro.exe Wordpress Blog Comment Program Finally Available to the Public!

KommentKing.exe is a Windows desktop application developed on Windows 2000 and tested extensively with both Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

KommentKing.exe runs on your Windows pc visiting Wordpress blogs and leaving a comment on that blog’s most recent post.

This is very different than other programs. For example, most of the automated comments that I get on blackhatbootcamp.com/blog are for one of the first posts that I ever published.

I don’t really know how or why so many automated commenting programs all target the same post. Possibly they spider for a list, then comment on those SAME URLs (permalinks) forever and ever, without updating. Poor show imo.

You’ve heard of Akismet? The anti-spam plugin for Wordpress blogs. It automatically flags a comment as spam if the comment is targeted to a post more than a few months old; I forget the exact criteria.

How To Rank For Viagra >> Web 2.0 User Submitted Pages Take Top Ten “buy viagra” SERPs!!

Just when we thought Google’s “trust” rank was dead, everyone is grabbing valuable real estate in the “buy viagra” SERPs; in fact, the top ten are all user submitted pages!

Here’s a shot of the current top SERPs for “buy viagra”:

How’s it work?
1. Find a site that allows user input, such as, a forum, a video upload site, a image storage/display site, or a profile in a community site. Anywhere that YOU can control the page.

2. Check the PageRank of that site’s homepage. You are looking for a minimum of PR6.

3. Verify that the PageRank can flow from the homepage to the user’s pages. Usually there will be list of categories or a membership list. In some cases, where there is no “list”, the site showcases a few members on the homepage. In these cases, you need to check if you can vote, favorite, add as a friend, or “watch” those front page members. There MUST BE links connecting the site’s homepage to the user pages! AND, those links MUST pass the PageRank, (no nofollow attribute in the links). This takes some digging, but if you skip this step you could waste a shitload of your time.

4. Register, verify, and edit your page. On some sites, you can put your affiliate link in LARGE BOLD LETTERS. Other pages only allow some normal sized text and just a place to put your homepage URL, which should be the site that you want users to click through to.

5. Promote your new parasite page!

Here’s today’s parasite example. This parasite page has about 7,000 backlinks showing in Yahoo Explorer (YE), but my guess is that, in reality, it has many, many more.

I am not suggesting that you target “buy viagra” or any other pharmacy niches. They are extremely competitive. In the “buy viagra” biz, you might need about 50,000 to 100,000 backlinks (assuming they are all like guestbooks or whatever). And you will need a second parasite waiting in the background because your first will most likely be reported for spam and deindexed by Google, or deleted by the parasite host.

However, consider using the above technique on something like “cheap airfare to hawaii” or maybe “best hair loss product reviews” or “how to pick up girls”. :D

Cool Way to Earn Fast Money Selling Domains!

One area of online earning that I will be exploring extensively in 2009 is buying and selling sites and domains.

To kick this off, I wrote some code today that does an availability check on a list of keyword phrases that I got from the Google keyword tool. To keep it short, I only checked if the .info is available for registering.

Of course, all these phrases are quite competitive, but that’s ok for three reasons.

  • First, when the domain name exactly matches the search query, Google gives a huge boost in the SERPs.
  • Second, because these domain names are long tail and specialized, the competitor’s page is likely to be less optimized in most cases.
  • Third, because the domain name is an actual Google query, there is a good chance of getting type in traffic.

    • So, what do you do with this information?

    Pick a name that you like from the list. Confirm the above monthly Google queries with the Google keyword tool and do some more research on it.

    Check how many AdWords show for the search, the more the better because that means webmasters are willing to pay to be in those SERPs.

    Check some competitor’s pages that show in the same SERPs. I’m certain that you’ll find some niches where the competitor’s page is not highly optimized.

    When you are satisfied that your domain name is cool, go to namecheap.com (or wherever) and register it for $2.98 with free whois protection. :D If your domain name choice is already registered, that means another reader here beat you to the punch. LOL You’ll have to be quicker next time.

    Next, throw a free template on the site or install a Wordpress blog and put up some content.

    You will still need some good links or lots of low quality links. Well, speaking of links, that’s just what we do best in blackhatbootcamp.com… we get links by the thousands!
