Best Way To Get Better Search Engine Ranking (yeah sure!)

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

If you ever browse the webmaster forums, you’ve seen this list of suggestions posted almost everyday. Funnier, is there are always like 5 or 10 replies saying “Thanks, great list”. :D

Hi all,

Link building is very important task to get the top search engine ranking. There are various way to get the more back links-

1- Article submission and comment posting.
2- Own blog creation and comments on related blogs.
3- Participation in forums and place a link in signature.
4- Submission in bookmarking sites.
5- Submission in related directories.
6- Link exchange with good PR sites.

Yes, those are the standard suggestions.

However, most of us are do not have great article writing skills and even blog commenting requires some time and thought.

A signature link in a forum is good, but how many forums can you do that? I mean, you have to post or no one will see your signature. Posting takes time, thought, and some writing skills.

Bookmarking is good, but very, very time consuming unless you know how to automate it.

Directory submission was good five years ago, now they are mostly FFA listings, reciprocal link exchanges, or paid for listings.

Good PR sites will not be too excited to link out to you for no good reason.

Personally, I am SICK of seeing that simplistic list everyday on webmaster forums all around the web. Seeing the same list over and over shows me that webmasters are not being creative. They are not thinking out of the box and they are failing to rank in the search engines.

So, let’s be real.

Where can you find thousands of incoming links?

1. Create Your Own Blog Network and have them link to your important sites. (You can Post everyday to your own blog network with rss2wp.exe, all interlinked for great link juice.)

That is probably THE best method nowadays.

Two other methods are:
2. KommentKing.exe Wordpress blog commenter.
3. ReferBomb.exe Server Log Advertiser.

These tools are all available to bootcamp members.

Free Linkbait Advice #7 - Girl Chokes on Microphone!

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Hi Bompa,

Looks like you have some great advice. Any suggestions for my blog on public speaking and personal development?

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

I see that you will be giving a free workshop in Westboro, Ma. I was raised in Westboro 1st grade through high school. :D

I’m living in the Philippines now, so I guess I’ll miss your clam bake. :D

Anyways, linkbait for your public speaking blog.

James, assume that the titles of your blog posts will be showing up somewhere in the search engines or on someone else’s blog, or even in some forum.

You want the title to do more than catch their attention, you want the title to be irresisible; they will just have to click on it.

So, “Girl Chokes on Microphone!” will cause people to click the link.

“Yah, but it’s a fake headline, and I don’t do that stuff”.

No, it’s not a fake headline if you work it gently into your post with something like:

“Folks, wouldn’t you be horrified to actually read that headline in your daily newspaper?”

or

“Fortunately, the girl did not actually swallow the mic, but as soon as she went live on the mic, she forgot her whole speech”.

So, the blog title should be somewhat of a shocker, then the first line of the post makes a transition into the actual material.

I decided to rewrite a few of your blog’s Titles in order to give you the idea. To make my ideas more realistic, I will include my attempt of a opening transition line.

Your title: Public Speaking Success: The 80/20 Rule of Speech Preparation
Rewritten: 80% of Speeches Are Never Heard!
(Because 80% of the speech is in the prep before the speech is given)

Your Title: Public Speaking Success: The Pregnant Pause
Rewitten: Americans are Getting Pregnant On Stage!
(by utilizing what some call the pregnant pause, more speeches are getting pregnant)

Your Title: Tips for Toastmasters: Five Tips for Successful Meetings:
Rewritten: Toastmasters Get Tipsy!

If you need help with your next title, give me a shout, only $100 for 5 rewrites/title. ;)

good luck,
Bompa
